Traveling up the leeward coast, the turn off for Concord Falls is outside the village of Concord. The road twists and turns and becomes narrower as you drive into the hills. A parking area by the falls is patrolled by a security guard. There are three sets of falls. By the parking area, you can simply enjoy the first falls or swim in the pool 35 feet below them. The middle set of falls is larger and a 45-minute hike above the first.
The rocks are slippery and the canopy of nutmeg trees is pleasantly distracting. Although the trail is marked, you may chose to take along a guide – they can be hired at the parking area. Be sure to agree on a price before you set out. The upper set of falls is known as the Fountainbleu Falls and is a good deal higher up the trail. For these, a guide, snacks, and water are essential. The cool, clear swimming hole at the base of this 65-foot waterfall will be more than inviting when you arrive.
